Strength and Movement Courses - 5th- 8th Graders


FALL SESSION 2019

Advanced Strength and Movement (ASM)
Begins: Tuesday, October 29th
Ends: Thursday, November 21ar
Time: 3:30-4:30PM  Tuesday's and Thursdays
​Location: WCSD Student and Community Wellness Center, 600 High Street, Wrightstown, WI 54180

Cost: $75 per student (only 10 students accepted)

In order for students to be accepted into the Advanced Strength and Movement class, they must be 11 years old and: 
1. Be respectful and show interest and attention to progression.
2. Show physical readiness with proper technique.
3. Be respectful to equipment and space and understand the importance of personal and peer safety.

*Students who take the Advanced Strength and Movement class that are in 5th-7th grade have the opportunity to gain access to the Wrightstown Student and Community Wellness Center with a parent before they are in 8th grade.  ASM students must earn a 5 out of 5 in all of the listed criteria to gain this access. 



Introduction to Strength and Movement (ISM)

Cost: $50 per student (only 16 students accepted)

​​The goal of this course is to introduce these students to strength training and conditioning movements by teaching them step by step movements while encouraging safety and proper progression. We will focus on specific muscle groups in each session while continuing to promote the importance of full-body strength. Competitive athletes and non-athletes alike are highly encouraged to participate in this course as the benefits of strength and movement are prevalent to all bodies. 

Along with the focus on movement, we will also educate students on exercise nutrition and fueling their bodies properly. With the hustle and bustle of today's society, it takes commitment to eat and recover properly. Knowing what to eat and having examples of healthy snacks is half the battle- the other half is actually doing it.  We will share healthy snacks and recipes to take away each week to aid in the commitment!
